It’s been one of those days. Nothing particularly bad has happened or gone wrong, yet I feel under the weather and slightly disenchanted with life. I find that the best cure for these types of feelings is to focus on the positive things in life, rather than the negative. Today, I am going to do that in the form of gratitude.
So, today I am grateful for…
1. Being in Mexico City. Travel has become such an engrained part of my reality that sometimes I forget how amazing it is that I can work from anywhere with wifi. I’m grateful for the companies that allow me to work from anywhere, for supportive managers who encourage my travels, and for the ability to travel while working.
2. Missing winter. Winter can be beautiful… in photos. In all seriousness, I find I am least happiest when I am cold and bundled and scraping off a frozen windshield in the dark, and I would prefer to be somewhere temperate where I can wear Birkenstocks all year round. My lifestyle currently allows me to do that, and so for the 3rd year in a row, I will successfully miss winter. Hallelujah!
3. Having a partner that supports my goals and dreams. Sometimes he annoys me, but most of the time, he’s the best, and I am eternally grateful to have his support with each step that I take in life.
4. Being alive in 2017. It’s really the best time to be alive. Technology is better than ever and continuing to improve by the minute; I can talk to people from all corners of the world through a screen, and I can keep in touch with my family and friends back home as though I am still there. It’s truly incredible.
5. Patreon supporters. The people who support us on Patreon help keep The World Wanderers going each month and for that I am grateful.
6. Our production assistant, Shalini. Shalini has consistently done an amazing job producing The World Wanderers, and her work has allowed Ryan and I to focus on other projects and higher level tasks.
7. My bestie, Katie. I woke up this morning to a message from Katie simply wishing me a good day. She was on her way to work, yet she took 2 minutes to send me a message that made me smile when I saw it this morning. Friendships take effort, and I’m grateful for a friend who is willing to put in that effort to be a good friend.
8. WeWork. We got co-working memberships at a WeWork in Mexico City last week and it has been an amazing experience so far. The staff are kind, the facilities are great, and the building has a beautiful view of the city.
9. WomanCode. This is the book that I am currently reading, and it’s all about balancing hormones. I’ve struggled with my hormones my whole life, but it’s been particularly bad over the last 5 years, and this book feels a bit like a god send at the moment.
10. Yoga. I will be forever grateful that yoga came into my life way back when and that it has become a permanent part of my day-to-day existence.
